World Accreditation Services– How it works…

Independent Global Education Council collects and studies information on the current and developing theory and practice in quality assessment internationally.

The IGEC Accreditation Service manages a peer to peer Certification Programme which encourages improvement through a process of continuous self-study and board evaluation. Working in partnership with member institutions it sets the standards for World Accreditation

WORLD ACCREDITATION MEANS GLOBAL EDUCATIONAL QUALITY AND UNIFORMITY

The final award of full accredited status demonstrates that the member school has achieved high standards of professional performance in international education and has a commitment to its continuing improvement

By means of this information-sharing and otherwise, it is intended that the WAC should:

1. Promote good practices in the maintenance and improvement of quality in higher education;
2. Facilitate research into the practice of quality management in higher education;
3. Be able to provide advice and expertise to assist the development of new quality assurance agencies; facilitate links between accrediting bodies especially insofar as they operate across national borders;
4. Assist members in determing the standards of institutions operating across national borders; permit better-informed international recognition of qualifications;
5. Be able to assist in the development and use of credit transfer schemes in order to enhance the mobility of students between institutions within and across national borders;
6. and enable members promote excellent accrediting practices and teach-guide organisational standards.

International Participation & Cooperation

WAC provides an infrastructure which to a high degree offers the possibility and invites international cooperation without regard to the location of the partners. For a considerable cooperation between projects, however, personal encounters are necessary and conferences, especially those with an interdisciplinary approach, offer good opportunities for a more in detail exploration of the options and aims and to l earn about and meet potential partners.

WAC members are dedicated to quality continuing education and training. World Accredited institutions play an active role in the continuing education and training community, while gaining access to a vast network of educational professionals.
